Frequently asked questions

3 mm or 5 mm foamex?
3 mm is light and ideal for wall-mounted signs, menus and displays. 5 mm is stiffer and better for larger sizes, free-standing displays and signs that get handled.

Can foamex go outside?
Foamex is best indoors or for short-term outdoor use. For long-term outdoor signs, choose DiBond; for temporary outdoor signs, correx is a budget option.

How long does delivery take?
Choose Saver, Standard or Express when you order. Your estimated delivery date is shown next to the price before you check out, and delivery to UK addresses is free.

What file should I upload?
A print-ready PDF is best, but JPG, PNG and ZIP files up to 100MB are accepted. Set up your artwork at the board size as one PDF – side one on page 1, side two on page 2 if double-sided. You can also order now and upload your artwork later.

Sizes:

- A4: 210 × 297 mm (21 × 29.7 cm, 8.3 × 11.7 in)
- A3: 297 × 420 mm (29.7 × 42 cm, 11.7 × 16.5 in)
- A2: 420 × 594 mm (42 × 59.4 cm, 16.5 × 23.4 in)
- A1: 594 × 841 mm (59.4 × 84.1 cm, 23.4 × 33.1 in)
- A0: 841 × 1189 mm (84.1 × 118.9 cm, 33.1 × 46.8 in)

Each size is double the one before (A1 = 2 × A2).

Tip: keep text and logos at least 10 mm from the edges, and well clear of drill holes. For signs read from a distance, use big, bold text.

Care Instructions

- Store boards flat in a cool, dry place, away from heat.
- Wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth – no solvents.
- Avoid leaning heavy objects on thin boards to prevent bowing.
- Foamex is best for indoor or short-term outdoor use.
